In the lead-up to the 2024 presidential elections in the U.S., issues of diversity have taken a prominent role in people’s minds and on the campaign trail. With legislation about reproductive rights, healthcare access, and increasingly fraught discourse about “diversity, equity, and inclusion,” this election season highlights the symbolic and political weight of this election season not only in the U.S. but all across the globe.
As part of a collection published with transcript and edited by Melanie Kreitler and Greta Olson, Prof. Dr. Sabine N. Meyer’s article “IndigiPolitics: Native American Voters and the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election” gives center stage to the voices of Native American individuals from tribal communities all across the U.S. to emphasize the potential impact of the Native vote and the importance of considering Native political participation.
